DQ Blizzard Of The Month: Reese’s Extreme Blizzard Review

Extra peanut butter and chocolate with candy in every bite. If that sounds good, you need to read this Reese’s Extreme Blizzard review and check out this DQ Blizzard of the month for August 2021 before it disappears yet again. It’s definitely a treat made for those with a passion for all things chocolate and peanut butter!

Reese’s Extreme Blizzard Review

Aside from the obvious Reese’s peanut butter cups, this blizzard takes mix-ins to the extreme by adding Reese’s Pieces and a generous amount of chocolate topping in the mix. The resulting blizzard has so much peanut butter and chocolate goodness that it could only be called Reese’s Extreme!

Most of our crew had tried this flavor before, but we had to grab some on our latest trip to Dairy Queen. They were solid enough upon receipt to withstand the standard Blizzard flip, but quickly melted in Texas heat as extreme as this Blizzard. Unfortunately, our real-life photo is a little on the melty side.

On the bright side, look at all that delicious Reese’s candy!

This is a great treat, even when it’s half melted like a weird Reese’s flavored ice cream soup. It’s intensely rich and sweet with all kinds of peanut buttery and chocolate notes. When it all comes together and the topping blends with the vanilla base, it becomes like a creamy mildly chocolate ice cream with cold Reese’s peanut butter cup bites with the occasional burst of crunchy, peanutty Reese’s Pieces.

The only criticism we have is that the Reese’s Extreme Blizzard may be too extreme for some people. It is so rich and packed full of intense flavor that even the most loyal Reese’s fan with the biggest sweet tooth in our group says it would be tough to tackle a medium-sized one of these.

It’s sweet and salty with candy textures galore! If you love chocolate and peanut butter, we definitely recommend trying this one.

Summary and Rating

This blizzard, while extremely rich, might just be a candy lovers dream. It’s creamy, crunchy, and hits all the right notes.

Pros

  • Intense Reese’s flavor
  • Creamy with a generous amount of candy crunch

Cons

  • Almost too sweet and rich

While this is not a Blizzard flavor that we could enjoy on a regular basis, it is a great treat that would satisfy even the biggest chocolate or peanut butter craving you might have. It also paired will with the Bacon Ranch Hungr-Buster burger if that’s available near you.

We might not order it again before the end of the month, but we will look forward to the Reese’s Extreme Blizzard’s future returns to the menu.

Rating: 7/10 (Very Good)
