Halo Top Strawberry Fruit Pops and Halo Top Pineapple Fruit Pops Review

One of the leading light ice cream brands recently released fruit pops! Halo Top fruit pops are taking the freezer aisle by storm, promising all the flavor of traditional fruit bars with up to 65% less sugar.

Do they really bring delicious, fruity flavor?

That is what we wanted to answer for you when we picked up Halo Top strawberry fruit pops and Halo Top pineapple fruit pops from Walmart last week.

Here are all the details!

Halo Top Strawberry Fruit Pops Review

Halo Top Strawberry Fruit Pops

The first three things we noticed about these fruit pops is that they are made with real fruit, have less sugar than leading fruit bars, and come in 5 popular flavors, which are:

  • Strawberry
  • Pineapple
  • Lime
  • Coconut
  • Mango

The strawberry one has only 40 calories per fruit bar and 50% less sugar. Here is a picture of the strawberry and pineapple varieties.

They look like regular fruit bars, but Halo Top fruit pops are sweetened with a mixture of sugar and stevia leaf extract. Sometimes, stevia leaf extract can be bitter or leave an aftertaste, so we weren’t sure what to expect in the taste test.

We were pleasantly surprised to discover that Halo Top strawberry fruit pops taste just as good as other strawberry fruit bars that have twice the sugar.

This proved to be a nice, sweet treat with real bits of strawberry!

Pros

  • Great taste
  • Real strawberry pieces
  • 50% less sugar

Cons

  • Slight texture difference

You can’t go wrong with this strawberry flavor 🙂

Rating: 8.5/10 (Very Good)

Halo Top Pineapple Fruit Pops Review

Halo Top Pineapple Fruit Pops

After trying the strawberry variety, we had high hopes for the Halo Top pineapple fruit pops. This is the real test, because it seems to be much harder for fruit bar companies to make a pineapple fruit bar that tastes natural and delicious.

These did not disappoint!

Upon first bite, our reviewers were immediately greeted with the same fresh taste that you would find in a perfectly ripe pineapple. We were surprised to find real pineapple bits in this, and we loved it!

This is our new favorite frozen pineapple fruit bar, hands down!

Now for the bonus, Halo Top pineapple fruit pops are also 40 calories per pop and have 65% less sugar than leading pineapple flavored fruit bars. Somehow, these taste fresher and sweeter than other brands to us, so you may not even notice the missing sugar.

Rating: 9.3/10 (Excellent!)

These are really good! We look forward to trying more flavors soon, especially lime 🙂
