The Taco Bell Grilled Cheese Burrito filling is a mixture of beef, rice, nacho cheese, red tortilla strips, sour cream, and chipotle sauce. All of that is folded into a soft tortilla which is coated in a three-cheese blend and then grilled. Here’s what the finished product looks like:
The golden brown finish from the grilled cheese on top made this look very delicious, although you can see the oily sheen. Our crew was impressed with the size of the burrito, as it is huge and quite heavy. We found it filling and very cheesy. We unanimously agreed that our favorite part was the chipotle sauce, which provided a nice unexpected kick of flavor. The sauce also helped cut through the cheese.
The Taco Bell Grilled Cheese Burrito certainly lives up to its name. There is a huge amount of cheese in and on this burrito, which will delight cheese lovers. However, even the most cheese-loving members of our team agree that everything put together is a bit too much of a good thing. The sheer amount of cheese made the burrito very greasy, especially on the outside. It results in a very heavy meal that one reviewer described as “a gut bomb”.
This hefty, cheesy burrito is a limited edition menu item that is brought back from time to time due to its popularity. We aren’t denying that the Taco Bell Grilled Cheese Burrito its bragging rights, but we personally wish Taco Bell would consider bringing back other items too, such as the Meximelt, Fully Loaded Nachos, or the Bell Beefer.
