Have you been looking for a new juice that has protein and extra vitamins and only 5 grams of sugar? If that sounds interesting, then you will want to keep reading our Minute Maid Super Juice review. We will tell you about the different flavors and share our experience with trying Minute Maid Super Juice Strawberry Kiwi.
What Makes Minute Maid Super Juice Different
This line of juices is a healthier take on standard juice drinks and features a blend of fruit and vegetable juices with added vitamins, minerals, and 5 grams of whey protein per serving. All of that for only 40 calories and 5 grams of sugar.
Minute Maid Super Juice comes in 3 flavors:
- Strawberry kiwi
- Tropical punch
- Fruit punch
So, how do they pull off making a juice drink with 5 grams of sugar? These juice blends are sweetened with a combination of high fructose corn syrup, fruit juices, purees, sucralose, and acesulfame-K. For more information on this line of drinks, you can check out Minute Maid’s website.
We found the strawberry kiwi variety recently and bought it to rate for our readers, so it’s time to get to that Minute Maid Super Juice review!
Minute Maid Super Juice Strawberry Kiwi Review
We were all wondering if they would be able to cover up the taste of whey protein in this, so we cautiously took our first sips. All that comes through at first is an overwhelming sweetness that none of us were prepared for. Yes, juice is supposed to be sweet, but this tasted even sweeter than conventional juice drinks.
It is refreshing and has a juice mouthfeel, even though the sweetness overpowers everything for the first few sips. There’s no whey protein or vitamin taste here. In fact, there’s barely any discernible strawberry kiwi flavor at first. That is how sweet Minute Maid Super Juice is.
After drinking a few sips, the sweetness and sweetener aftertaste mellows a little and a mild strawberry kiwi flavor begins to come through.
Overall, Minute Maid Super Juice isn’t too bad. Kids will likely enjoy the intense sweetness and there is decent nutritional value in this for a juice drink. We just wish Minute Maid had chosen to make Super Juice with half the amount of artificial sweeteners, so we could have more of that refreshing strawberry kiwi flavor with less sweetener tastes.
This is probably the most intensely sweet thing we have reviewed yet. It might only have 5 grams of sugar, but it seriously comes off sweeter than candy, Mountain Dew, and Pop Tarts!
Summary and Rating
This attempt at a healthy juice drink for kids and the young at heart is not a total flop. That being said, it could use a little tweaking to improve the flavor.
Pros
- Only 5 grams of sugar
- Added vitamins and minerals
- 5 grams of whey protein
- No weird whey or vitamin taste
Cons
- Not much fruity flavor
- Intensely sweet taste
- Contains more sweeteners than we would like
This gets extra points for nutrition, but the taste leaves a lot to be desired for us. If you have kids and don’t mind the amount of or type of sweeteners used in Super Juice, you may want to look into these.

I have the minute maid super juice tropical punch. Too my surprise it is super sweet, I can taste to fruit in this tropical punch. Not too bad aftertaste. Kids will definitely love this drink, because of the sweetness. Will buy again.
Maybe all the flavors are surprisingly sweet then?
I really like the orange mango flavor . The strawberry banana to me tastes like medicine . They also have a Super juice in the same packaging . I’ve tried the Strawberry Kiwi . It’s not bad .
Pros : can’t taste the protein ( thank God ) , I can shake and go and I get plenty of needed vitamins .
Cons : it is very sweet , has a funky after taste and doesn’t really fill me up .
i like these but my siblings hate them.
