Walkers Prawn Cocktail Quavers are the prawn cocktail flavored crunchy curls which begin to melt in your mouth after the first crunchy bite. This flavor was a popular kids lunchbox treat in the UK around the late 1980s and early 90s. Soon after, they disappeared from shelves, but now they are back by popular demand.
Our British team member is always reminiscing about how good these were in his childhood, so he couldn’t wait to try them when he noticed them at Sainsbury’s. We asked him to let us know if the new Walkers Prawn Cocktail Quavers taste as good as the ones from his childhood.
Here’s that mouthwatering Walkers Prawn Cocktail Quavers review!
Walkers Prawn Cocktail Quavers Review
The first thing you will notice about one of these is their brightly colored packaging. It seemed to be an even brighter shade of pink than in the past. Upon opening them, the Quavers have a delicious mouthwatering prawn cocktail crisp smell. They have that texture that Quavers are known for, a good initial crunch before melting in the mouth. If you’ve ever had Quavers, you know exactly what that is like.
As curly, crunchy, and melty as ever!
The flavoring is a bit uneven though. Some individual Quavers have lots of flavor, while others are quite bland. Also, they are lacking a little in salt for personal taste. Overall, the flavor is good and quite similar to the 80s version, even though they are noticeably milder and less salty. They will definitely be purchased again soon!
