If you are a fan of garlic bread then you will want to read this review about the new Pillsbury Garlic Bread Pull-Apart Kit!

We are huge fans of garlic bread. To us, it is that special side that we always have to order on a restaurant menu or make to go with any pasta dish. On a recent grocery store trip, we were excited to find a Pillsbury Garlic Bread Pull-Apart Kit and couldn’t wait to see if it tastes as good as the garlic bread and garlic rolls we love. Our team is here to tell you all about our experience with the Pillsbury Garlic Bread Pull-Apart Kit, including how we fared with the preparation instructions and whether we got the flavor and results that we anticipated.

Now on to the review!

Pillsbury Garlic Bread Pull-Apart Kit Review

The Pillsbury Garlic Bread Pull-Apart Kit is fairly easy to prepare. The package contains pre-cut dough and a sauce pouch, and the instructions are easy to follow. All you have to do is provide 2 Tbsp. of butter and 1/4 cup of cheese. The first step is mixing the sauce pouch with melted butter.

Just look how buttery and delicious that sauce looks!

The next step is to add your pre-cut dough to the pan, and mix it with the sauce until it’s all coated.

You then top it with your choice of grated cheese, and bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes, based on the size of the pan you are using. We chose a 3-cheese Italian blend of shredded cheese, but you can pick your favorite type of cheese. If you prefer it without cheese, omitting it should still produce a tasty pull-apart.

Pillsbury Garlic Bread Pull-Apart Kit ready to bake

This smells delicious when baking, so we couldn’t wait to taste it. In fact, we were so excited that we ate more than half of it before we remembered to take a picture!

Pillsbury Garlic Bread Pull-Apart Kit finished

As you can see, the top of the Garlic Bread Pull-Apart came out a little darker than most people might expect. However, the garlic bread has a nice crunchy texture on the outside and is soft and fluffy on the inside. If the outside cooked up a bit less dark but still crunchy, it would be the perfect bake.

Overall we enjoyed the garlic bread. It definitely has a hint of garlic, though it was a little on the mild side. The addition of a little more garlic and some herbs to enhance the flavor would take the results of the Pillsbury Garlic Bread Pull-Apart Kit to the next level. It is still good the way it is though or we wouldn’t have devoured most of the pan before remembering to photograph the final product 🙂

Summary and Rating

This kit makes a quick and easy garlic bread side that is good, although it would benefit from a few minor changes. It reminds us a lot of the little garlic rolls or garlic bread bites that you can get at some restaurants, so it definitely has a lot of potential.

  • Easy to prepare
  • Great texture
  • Good flavor

Cons

  • Flavor is mild, could use more garlic flavor and some herbs
  • Top was slightly too dark when baked according to the directions
