Who doesn’t love a good taco, especially with extra cheese? When we heard that Taco Bell had a new menu option that included both of these things, we had to be among the first people to try it.
Now, it’s time to show you photos and share our thoughts on this new menu item!
Taco Bell Cantina Crispy Melt Taco
The Taco Bell Cantina Crispy Melt Taco starts off with a fried taco shell with cheese and nacho cheese at the bottom. It is then filled with traditional taco ingredients, such as seasoned beef, sour cream, lettuce, tomato and shredded cheddar cheese.

Overall we found the taste and texture to be exactly like a Crunchy Taco Supreme apart from one thing. The flavor and texture of smooth nacho cheese. All of us agree that it was good, but it didn’t have much of a wow factor. It is really just a taco with extra cheese, which is great if that’s what you are looking for.
For a new item at this price point, we expected something a bit more exciting. Great news for vegetarians, there is a Black Bean Cantina Crispy Melt Taco that could prove to be more exciting than the beef version!

Not sure the reviewer actually tried one of these. The shell is dramatically better than the factory produced shells they normally use. The cheese is noticeable where Taco Bell is mostly missing cheese on most taco products. Overall, the Bell’s best taco ever. Now it’d they’d just make a soft fried shell version.
I assure you that we did try it, and the Black Bean version has much more cheese than this one at our local Taco Bell. I am glad you enjoy your Cantina Melt Tacos 🙂 I hope Taco Bell keeps them on the menu!
I LOVED THE CHRUNCY TACO MELT, the taco shell was easy to eat was light, texture was happyness when you took a bite!!! Please dont take away from me.
You must have gotten bad tacos. The several that I went back to get like an addict, we’re so crispy and fresh compared to those corn shells. Apples and oranges. Cantina crispy taco was a 10/10
Maybe we did get unlucky with these, because the black bean version was night and day very much like you are describing. I will miss the crispiness for sure!
