Waf FULLS Review

Waf FULLS, stylized as Waf*FULLS!, have finally made it to the U.S.! They have been successful in the U.K. for a few years now, so it’s about time we got a chance to try them!

So, what are Waf FULLS?

Keep reading to find out what these are and what ranking our crew gave them!

All About Waf FULLS

The official description is “a soft waffle sponge sandwich with delicious filling.” They are basically shelf-stable stuffed waffles that come ready to eat right out of the wrapper. Sounds amazing, right?

They currently come in 3 flavors:

  • Strawberry
  • Double Choc
  • Salted Caramel (chocolate waffle with salted caramel filling)

We found the strawberry and the salted caramel varieties at Walmart for a little less than $5 per box, so we decided to do a Waf FULLS review.

Waf FULLS Strawberry Review

The Waf FULLS Strawberry variety features a regular vanilla waffle with strawberry filling. Here is what that looks like.

Waf FULLS Strawberry

Waf FULLS Strawberry inside

When we think of waffles, the buttermilk kind that is slightly crispy and buttery is what comes to mind first. That is not what these are. The outside of Waf FULLS is more like a Belgian-style waffle made out of sponge cake, while the inside is a mild-tasting, thick strawberry gel.

All of our rankers agree that this feels and tastes more like a snack cake than a breakfast waffle and the flavor just doesn’t work like we expected. The filling has an odd texture and doesn’t deliver the true strawberry flavor that we were looking for.

Waf FULLS Strawberry flavor may work as a dessert or quick snack if you are a fan of strawberry flavored candies or sponge cake. For most of our rankers, it was a bit of a let down.

Waf FULLS Salted Caramel Review

Waf FULLS Salted Caramel

This variety has a chocolate waffle and salted caramel filling.

The waffle has the same cake-like texture as the strawberry variety, so we would consider this a snack cake as well. That being said, the salted caramel flavor is more successful, at least with our Food Rankers crew. While we can’t say for sure that there’s salt in the caramel, the gooey caramel works well with the light chocolate sponge. The combination of the two components gives off German chocolate cake-like notes that we all enjoyed!

Salted Caramel Waf FULLS make a delicious dessert, especially for fans of caramel!

Summary And Overall Rating

Waf FULLS are nothing like what Americans commonly think of as waffles. While we can’t give them our breakfast stamp of approval, they function well as snack cakes.

Pros

  • Filled cakes
  • Salted caramel variety is tasty

Cons

  • Not very waffle-like for Americans
  • Strawberry filling has an odd taste and texture

If you want to try these, we would recommend the salted caramel variety. The double chocolate one is probably good too, but we couldn’t find any to be able to verify that.

Overall Rating: 5.4/10 (Average)
